Andres San Miguel Pecina, 84, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 in his home with his family by his side. He was born in San Marcos, Texas on February 3, 1937 to Leopoldo and Refujia (San Miguel) Pecina. He was a self-made man and worked in the roofing industry for many years. He married the love of his life Constance (Ortega) in 1953. Andres was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved traveling. He had many passions in life, from collecting old cars, trucks and fixing them up to going to flea markets, playing the accordion, listening to music and building things. Andres' hands were always moving. He was known to many as "Gramps." It seemed that he never met a stranger. He was always wanting to teach people and pass his skills and knowledge down to his family, or the neighborhood kids. If you needed help with something, Andres was always there, not to do it for you, but to teach you how to do it. The thing he cherished most though was his family, whom he loved and adored. They will truly miss him deeply.
Andres is survived by his children, Magdalena (Ignacio) Silvas, Michael Pecina, Angelena Ibarra, Andres Pecina Jr., Marcos Pecina, Ronald Pecina, Leopoldo (Sonya) Pecina Paula (Mike) Lozano, Carlos Pecina; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Esther Dioncio, Lily Lopez, Leo Pecina, Marcos Pecina, Refugia Pecina, Angelo Pecina, Pablo Pecina and Mary Ellen Pecina. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Constance; children, Susanna, Andrea, and Marcos Pecina; and siblings, Magdaleno, Frank, Ralph and Robert Pecina.
