Jerry Lee Sigler, 56, loved the Lord and went to be with Him on October 17, 2005 in St. Luke Hospital after a short bout with a rare cancer. He was born on February 7, 1949 in Oregon, Ohio to Glen and Phyllis (Buchele) Sigler. Jerry married Julia Jaquillard in 1968 He was employed at Kaiser Aluminum, until their closing, and then went to college, at the age of 43, to become a mental Health Tech at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He volunteered at David's House and the Rape Crisis Center where he began a male support group. Jerry was featured on the Sally Jesse Raphael show and several radio and newspaper interviews. He had a life changing experience when he went on a mission trip to Roatan. When able, he attended Glass City Christian Fellowship Church. Jerry loved attending his grandchildren's many activities and traveling. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are his wife, Julia; children, Brian (Carol), Jeremy (Gretchen) and Sheri (Adel) Sheabat; 5 grandchildren whom he loved very much, Samantha, Rebekah, Josh, Hannah and Kyle; mother, Phyllis; sisters, Glenna (Randy) Taylor, Cathleen (Michael) Shobe; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Danetta and Cliff Taylor, and Paula Cousino. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 4-9 pm and Friday, from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in North Oregon Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Jerry's memory are asked to consider the charity of the donor's choice. Jerry's family extends special thanks to Pastor Barry whom Jerry spent quality time with just before his death. We will miss you, but you will suffer no more.
