Mark Hubscher, known to all as Hub, passed away on Sunday April 25, 2021 at the age of 67. He was the owner operator of the Rumpus Room, an East Toledo 'Hunky Town' bar which has been in the family since 1915. Hub was born in Curtice, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of the '05. When he first met you, you were instantly a friend. He had a crazy sense of humor and was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings along with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved to golf and fish and make you laugh. He had a zest and love for life and was always there if you needed help. One of his favorite things he did was to give you a nickname and he came up with some doozies. Once he christened you with that nickname, he never called you by your given name again.
Hub is survived by his Significant Other, Jules Hickok, Sisters Chris Szabo, Kathy (Joe) Kerekes and Beth (Mark) Dempsey; Step-daughter Adriane Zaniewski; Nieces Tammy Frye, Tracy Russ, Angie McKie and Cindy Collini; Nephew Ken Kerekes and many great nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his many friends. We all will miss him very much.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Katherine (Kate) Hubscher; Father Julius (Hub) Hubscher, Brothers Chuck and David Hubscher, Special Brother, Mike Manthey nephews Joe and Tony Kerekes and niece Barbara Kerekes.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home 440 S. Coy, Oregon Ohio from 3-7 on Friday May 7, 2021. The family requests in lieu of flowers charitable donations may be given to The East Toledo Boys and Girls Club. http://www.bgctoledo.org/donations
