On May 12, 2021, just four days short of his 95th birthday, Richard (Dick) Greenburg stepped out into eternity to the arms of God. He was born May 16, 1926 to Herman and Alice (Gilders) Greenburg. Dick was a World War II Navy Veteran, joining just two weeks short of his 18th birthday in 1944. He served during the war as coxswain (coxson) on the LST 451. He was in the campaigns of Leyte and Luzon in the Philippine Islands in October 1944; then the campaign of Okinawa during April – June 1945. He worked for Mead Containers and ProPak Industries, where he retired from. He loved visiting with friends and family, bowling, camping; but, most of all, fishing, as he grew up along the Maumee River in South Toledo. He and his wife, Helen, spent many happy hours camping or vacationing with his brother and sister-in-law. Richard leaves behind to remember him his daughters, Sharon Curles -Kutzka, Patricia (Joseph) Curles-Motter; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Greenburg; nieces, Linda Greenburg, and Lori (Goble) Compton; grandchildren, Michael (Chris) Motter, Mark (Teresa) Motter, Erica Kutzka-Duris and Tom Duris, Matthew Motter, Daniel Kutzka; 8 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Helen (Rickman) Greenburg, his brother, Jack Greenburg, and son-in-law John Kutzka. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH. on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 2 – 8 p.m. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, or a memorial of the donor's choice.
