Shirley Stein, of Oregon, has come home to the welcoming and loving embrace of family and friends on July 5, 2011 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Arlington, MA. after a long illness. Born Shirley Jean Rae she grew up in N. Olmsted outside of Cleveland. She moved to Toledo as a young bride just after WWII. She and Robert A. Stein, who died in 2001, married in 1946. She began her career at Ohio Bell and eventually retired from a management position at Owens Corning. She is a graduate of N. Olmsted High. She returned to school as an adult and a fulltime worker and mother and earned her Bachelors degree from the University of Toledo. She was a long time and devoted member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and was active in church, community and professional activities. She is the loving mother of Robert A. Stein Jr. of Boston and the cherished grandmother of Andrew Charles Stein of Los Angeles. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S.
