Albert E. Hymore, 83, of Luckey, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Tator Ridge Rd. in West Union, Ohio, on July 11, 1931, one of fifteen children born to Albert and Bessie (Samson) Hymore. Al was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. On April 22, 1952 he married the love of his life, Shirley (Phalen). He worked for LOF as a glass cutter for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the American Legion of Luckey Ohio Post 240. Al enjoyed selling and collecting antique cars. He and his wife loved going camping and to their cottage in Hamilton, Indiana. Al cherished taking care of his family and the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He was truly a great man and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley; sons, Keith (Corky) Hymore, Terry (Kelly) Hymore; grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Hymore, Courtney Hymore, Eric (Dana) Hymore, Greg (Missy) South; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Henry, Alex Hymore, Emma and Bryan South; siblings, John (Joyce), Virginia Kline, Sylvia Carter, Ronnie (Patty); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters, Annie, Mary, James, William, Lucille, Ali, Cora, Frank, George, Ahmed.
Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Rd on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and where American Legion Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
