Alberta L. Emrick, 94, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Arbors of Oregon. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 3, 1911 to Albert and Carrie (Rapps) Gittkowski. Alberta graduated from the University of Toledo and taught school for 29 years at Oakdale Elementary School retiring in 1973. She was a member of Oakdale United Methodist Church where her late husband, Rev. Dale Emrick was pastor for 29 years. She also was affiliated with the Federation of Toledo Teachers and Spouses of Retired Methodist Ministers.
Surviving are her daughters, Carole (Jack) Siebenaler and Corine (Robert) Wooley; grandchildren, Jack Siebenaler II, Ronald Siebenaler, Rick Siebenaler, Jill Gargac, David Wooley and Michele Makras; 16 great-grandchildren and nephew, Robert Cordrey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Pearl Cordrey and niece, Karen Nerenberg.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. and where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Forest Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Alberta's memory are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association or Arbors at Oregon. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Arbors at Oregon for all their loving care.
