Alden M. Cooper, 91, of Oregon, OH passed away January 23, 2007, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Toledo, OH on April 22, 1915, to Alden R. and Bessie (Young) Cooper. Alden was employed 27 years as an engineer with Channel 13 television in Toledo. Prior to that, he was co-founder of radio station WABJ in Adrian, MI. He earned his amateur radio license, W8BHL, in 1931, and was a life member and past president of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Quarter Century Wireless Association. Alden served in the United States Air Force during World War II, and was a member and past Elder of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Woodville & Elmore Sts. Toledo, OH. He was a former Scoutmaster of Troop #124 at the church. Surviving are his son, Mark James; daughter, Lois (David) Fuller; grandchildren, David and Stephen Fouty, Jason and Michael Fuller and 3 great grandchildren. Alden was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Venetia. Funeral services will be conducted in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home 440 S. Coy Rd. at Starr Ave. on Saturday at 1 p.m. where the family will greet visitors after 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Mark Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio who provided such kind loving care to Venetia Cooper in 2004.
