Alfonso 'œAl' Ruiz, 56, of Toledo, OH, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, March 5, 2010. Al was born in Mercedes, Texas on August 2, 1953 to Francisco (Castilla) and Victoria (Rosas) Ruiz. He was a combination welder with Jeep for 20 years retiring in 2004. Alfonso collected guns and knives and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cottage. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Kathleen; children, Jenny (Sean) Hughes, Alfonso (Michelle) Ruiz, Antonio A. Ruiz, Cecelia Ruiz and Stefanie Ruiz; brother, Joaquin (Alicia) Ruiz; sisters, Maria (Mucio) Duran, Maria Amador, Maria (Miguel) Saucedo, Alma Duran and Teresa Ruiz; step-mother, Inez Ruiz and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Tonya Cecilia, brother, Javier and sister, Yasmin. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday from 2 to 9 pm where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions in Alfonso'™s memory be made to the charity of the donor'™s choice.
