Alfred 'œJim' Rose, 76, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on March 4, 1936 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Alford J. and Vena (Roberts) Rose. Jim served in the US Army and was a lifetime member of the 759th Tank Battalion. On June 6, 1963, he married Carol Schober. Jim was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was employed with Chrysler Machining in Perrysburg, retiring in 1996. Jim enjoyed golfing, traveling, dancing, hunting, and fishing. On October 13, 2009, he made a hole-in-one at Sugar Ridge Golf Club, Lawrenceburg, Indiana. His memberships included the Maumee Eagles and the American Legion.
Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol; daughters, Christina (David) Schriever and Jacquelin (Ronald) Jurski; grandchildren, Zackary, Jakob, and Lukas Schriever, Kayleen and Christopher Jurski; and siblings, Phyllis Scott and George Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Vera Ducat and Gerald Rose.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, January 14th from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 15th at 11:00 am in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 106 Plumer Street, Toledo. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
