Obituary

Alice L. Bensch, 82, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2006, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. She was born in St. Mary's, Ohio on August 28, 1923, to Norbert and Helen (Hankins) Kohler. Alice was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church where she taught and served as president of the Sunday School. She also served on church council as a deacon, past president of the women of the church, past leader of Esther Circle, and a member of the Senior Choir, Bell Choir, and St. Mark's Senior Citizens. Alice also volunteered at St. Charles Hospital. She managed the General Nutrition Center for 14 years, retiring in 1988. Surviving are her daughter, Suzette M. Bensch; and several nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; son, James and sisters, Mary Jane and Emma Lou. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio, on Sunday, April 9, 2006 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Woodville and Elmore Streets, Toledo, Ohio, on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Ohio. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Alice's memory are asked to consider St. Mark Lutheran Church Renovation Fund. Visitation: Visitation Times 2-9 PM Sunday Millbury Chapel
