Alice I. Gilley, 90, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away, peacefully, Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Manor of Perrysburg, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Washington, Indiana on March 10, 1922 to John and Virgie (Hutson) Flick. On February 16, 1941, she married Hollis Gilley. Alice had a passion for serving others. She enjoyed cooking, canning and baking; especially her homemade ketchup. She will be remembered for her sour cream cookies and her salmon patties at many church dinners. Alice donated dozens of cookies to Northwestern Christian Youth Camp. Alice was willing to cook food for those in need especially those at the Cherry Street Mission and St. Paul'™s Community Center. For many years, Alice volunteered at Riverside Hospital. Alice was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Most recently, she attended Echo Meadows Church of Christ since 1966, where she was active with church dinners and fellowship. Alice was known for her 'œElectric Bosom' in the church nursery. She also baked cookies and sponsored church campers for many years. Alice volunteered for Michigan Christian College and its many bake sales and fundraisers. Alice'™s true passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren who brought her much joy. Alice is survived by her husband of 71 years, Hollis; children, Ronald Lee (Linda) Gilley and Karla Kay (Richard) Payne; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Grove. Alice is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Flick.
