Alice Melms, age 88 of Walbridge, OH passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Sunday June 17, 2007. The youngest of 6 children Alice was born in Toledo on December 2, 1918 to Frank & Laura Durell. Alice married Donald Melms Sr. on New Years Day, 1940. They lived in East Toledo most of their 67 years of marriage before moving to Millbury then finally to Walbridge, OH. Alice was a homemaker who dedicated her entire life to her family.  Ever the perfectionist, she was an excellent seamstress who created beautiful clothing. She also enjoyed gardening and baking her delicious chocolate chip cookies. Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Ann Melms (Steusloff). . She is survived by her husband, Donald Sr.; son, Donald (Penny) Melms Jr.; grandsons, Greg (Janet) and Michael (Jessica) Melms; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Gabrielle and Ava Melms. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, 1111 Woodville Rd. Millbury, OH 43447 on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 from 2 pm to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 1 pm with burial immediately following at Lake Township Cemetery.
