Aline Mayer, 89, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008, with his daughter by his side, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Tiffin, Ohio on February 1, 1919, to Jerome and Agnes (Smith) Benner. Aline was employed at Sears & Roebuck as a service clerk for over 25 years. She was active at the Jamie Farr Park Senior Center, loved to play cards, especially pinochle, and enjoyed traveling on vacations. Aline was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Surviving are her sons, Donald Jr. (Lucy), Eugene (Kathleen) and Francis Mayer; daughters, Juanita "Sue" (Rollin) Maas and Mary (Paul) Carroll; brothers, Alfred and Gerald Benner; sisters, Martha Alspach and Margaret (Dick) Sartor; 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Aline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Sr.; brothers, Howard and Norman; sisters, Mildred Piechocki and Bernita Kemp.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Oregon, OH where visitation will begin at 11:00 until services begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Aline's memory are asked to consider Jamie Farr Park Senior Center or St. Michael's Church.
