Alma Johnson, 87, of Lambertville MI., formerly of Northwood, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at Aspen Grove Retirement Community.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 12, 1923 to Edward and Anna (Nichol) Kreamer. On May 4, 1948, she married Glenn Johnson and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1993. Alma and Glenn were an inspiration to many for their loving, caring and compassionate attitude toward marriage. Alma worked for many years at Toledo Edison and later years for Cedar Point Gift Shop. Alma was a former member of Hayes United Methodist Church and New Life Pentecostals of Toledo. She was currently attending First Apostolic Church, Sylvania. Alma was known for her banana nut bread which she contributed to many organizations through the years.
Alma is survived by her children, Mark (Bonnie) Johnson and Marsha (John) Hanely; grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Mitchell, John, Jennifer, and Matthew; and sister, Wilma Huston. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Sunday from 4:00-9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday in the funeral home with interment following at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Apostolic Church Building Fund.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Aspen Grove Retirement Community, Lambertville, MI. and Erie-West Hospice for there care and compassion. The staff has been like family to Alma, contributing to her well being and quality of life for the past two years.
