Obituary

Althea Daralene (Buechsenschuss) Siferd 92, passed away Sept 21, 2017, surrounded by family in her daughters home in Temperance. Althea was born Dec. 26, 1924. in Denton, Nebraska to Wm and Elizabeth Haase. Althea (Tutti), was one of 5 children that grew up on the family farm in Lincoln. Althea developed a life long true love and respect for all animals especially her beloved "Sandusky". Growing up Althea had a passion for softball playing and traveling with the Denton Softball Team. Of her many jobs, one favorite was at the Glenn L. Martin Bomber Plant in Nebraska during WWII. There she kept the moral high with her crazy sense of humor. Althea's life changing job was when Russell Stover Co. sent her to Toledo to teach candy dipping. There she met, in the lobby of the Willard Hotel, and later married a handsome sailor and the "love of her life", Donald Buechsenschuss. Althea remarried 2nd husband Fred Siferd in 1972 and moved to Tempe, Az, returning after 19 yrs to be close to her daughters. Althea was a seamstress who also LOVED to cook, bake and dance. She excelled at everything she did. Althea was strong yet tender hearted. She loved being the center of attention and making people laugh, but her most endearing quality was her forgiving heart. Althea is survived by her daughters, Linda Young, Gail (Keith) Buechsenschuss-Reaume, Donna Heudecker and son, Wm (Ana) Buechsenschuss of Mesa AZ, 5 beautiful grand and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her constant companion, Manny B. Special thanks to Melissa, Chaplin Jennifer, Libby and Melanie from Hospice of NW Ohio.
