Alton E. Tripp, 84, of Oregon, OH passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born on September 12, 1932 in Bertie County, North Carolina to Jesse and Lanie (Lee) Tripp. Alton worked at CSX Docks for 38 years before retiring in 1993. He was also a member of Chippewa Golf Course, IBEW Local 8 and Echo Meadows Church of Christ. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Carol Tripp: daughter, Pamela of Ohio; son, Kyle of Florida; twin sister, Alvaine Conwell of Virginia; brothers, Warren Tripp Sr. of Florida, Donald Tripp of Virginia and Lee Tripp of Michigan; and granddaughters, Emma and Erin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family may visit at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 South Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, March 2 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Northwestern Ohio Christian Youth Camp or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
