Andrew "Angle Iron" Toth, 94, of Sylvania, OH and formerly of east Toledo, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2005, in Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. He was born in Toledo on October 21, 1910, to Andrew and Mary Toth. Andrew was employed for 40 years at the Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company before his retirement in 1972. In his younger years Andrew was a member of the Birmingham Ads football team and was a member of the Birmingham Hall of Fame. Mr. Toth also loved fishing and playing golf.
Surviving is his loving wife of 67 years, Edith; sons, Stephen (Sharon), Andrew (Marie) and William (Beverly) Toth; daughter, Theresa (Mark) Clark; sister, Helen Nagy; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue, on Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to either St. Stephen or Good Shepherd Church.
