IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela Christine
Hanley
May 17, 1978 – March 24, 2026
Celebration of Life
Angela Christine Hanley, 47, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family after a lifetime of courageous health battles.
Born on May 17, 1978, in Tacoma, Washington, at Madigan Army Medical Center, Angela lived a life defined by resilience, creativity, and deep devotion to those she loved. At 19 years old, she bravely survived non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and later in life faced and overcame breast cancer. Through every challenge, she remained a fighter, inspiring all who knew her with her strength and grace.
Angela was a 1996 graduate of Clay High School, where she was actively involved in the Clay Limelighters theater program, performing in productions such as Fiddler on the Roof. She was also a talented musician, playing the flute in the school band and participating in the flag corps of the marching band. Her love for the arts continued throughout her life, including a role in the Oregon Community Theater's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. An accomplished artist, Angela enjoyed oil painting and honed her skills through classes at the 577 Foundation.
A longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Angela dedicated time to volunteering with neighborhood ministries. She was also a devoted den leader for her son Wyatt's Cub Scout Pack 214, a role she cherished deeply.
Above all, Angela's greatest joy and proudest role was being a mother to her son, Wyatt, who was the most important person in her life. She treasured every moment spent with her family, from cooking meals-like her signature lasagna for her mother Carol's birthday, spaghetti boats with Wyatt, hearty hobo stew, cabbage soup, and classic meatloaf-to growing her own herbs and nurturing her beloved houseplants.
Angela had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. She loved attending theater productions at the Stranahan Theatre with her mother for over 30 years, watching Doctor Who, listening to music by Ozzy Osbourne, Kenny Chesney, and Lee Brice, and attending concerts with friends. She had a fondness for Cheetos, enjoyed geocaching adventures, and embraced her favorite color, pink, in many aspects of her life.
She leaves behind her beloved son Wyatt; mother Carol Hanley; sister, Erica (Josh) Bowman; special adopted daughter, Raven & her daughter, Sherrie; dear friend, Stephanie (Michael) Morganroth; longtime companion, Simba Peregoy; father, Brad; godmother, Robin (William)Ward; aunt, Leigh Vogelsong; along with a host of dear friends. Preceded in death by her grandparents, Gary & Nancy Vogelsong and uncle, Terry Vogelsong.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 3:30 pm at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Road, Toledo. Expressions of sympathy in Angela's memory may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
