Anita Duran, 83, formerly of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Sunset Village, Sylvania. Anita was born on May 15, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio to Clemente and Maria (Sanchez) Ahumada. For 29 years, Anita worked in the classified sales department at the Toledo Blade, retiring in 1994. She was a devoted member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Anita enjoyed volunteering with many organizations helping the underprivileged. Anita is survived by her daughter, Lydia (Donald) Cousino; granddaughters, Stephanie Nicole Cousino and Gina Maria (Richard) Clemens; great-grandson, Dean Clemens; brother, Wallace Ahumada; along with a niece, 5 nephews and many loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Vincent and Carl; sister, Lucy Weaver; and brother, John Ahumada. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 am in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 728 S. St. Clair Street, Toledo. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
