Ann Marie
Ramlow
Aug 18, 1948 — Aug 31, 2026
Ann Marie (Tarjanyi) Ramlow departed her earthly life and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Crist, on Monday, August 31, 2026.
Ann was born to Alex and Anna (Konesni) Tarjanyi in 1948. She was raised in East Toledo and attended St. Thomas Aquinas grade school, Waite High School, and graduated from Whitney Vocational High School in 1966.
She furthered her education at the University of Detroit to be certified as a dental hygienist. Ann continued on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree also at the U of D. In later life she obtained a Master of Education Degree with emphasis on Guidance and Counseling from the University of Toledo. Eventually she obtained her social work license and pursued continuing education classes to maintain both of her professions.
Practicing as a dental hygienist for over forty years with several dental offices in west Toledo (twenty-seven of which were in the offices of Milo Danzeisen DDS); Ann made many life-long friends among her patients and co-workers.
Ann met her husband, Barry, in 1972, and they were married on September 8, 1973 at St. Mark Lutheran Church. She often said that was when her life began. They enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe and many other locations in the western US. A milestone in their life together was the celebration of their 50th anniversary in September of 2023 with a gathering of their family and dearest friends. After retirement they enjoyed spending the winter months in Venice, Florida, where their circle of friendships increased even more.
Ann had many passions in her life. She was a prolific sender of greeting cards, regardless of the occasion. Photography was something that she always enjoyed and her favorite line when dealing with someone that resisted having their picture taken was "just do what I say and no one will get hurt". She enjoyed the outdoors and planting, weeding and watering her many flower beds. Going to lunch with her wide circle of friends was a weekly event as was locating garage and estate sales every Friday with her dear friend, Kathy.
Ann is survived by her loving husband, Barry, and cousins Judy (Jim) Roberts, Sandee Tarjanyi, Debbie Shadler, Jim Tarjanyi, Alan (Elaine) Bishop, Diane Bishop and step-brother Charles Zarawski. She was preceded in death by her
parents and her brother Alexander. She will be missed by all that knew her and were touched by her kindness.
A Celebration of Ann's life will be scheduled at a later date in September.
