Obituary

Anna Wilczynski, 98, of East Toledo passed away on May 14, 2009 at Orchard Villa. Born June 20, 1910 to Matt and Anna Sirilo, she was the eldest of 7 children. Anna was married to Ollie Wilczynski for 33 years when he passed away in 2001. They operated and owned LaPark Nite Club on Lagrange St., which had the biggest dance floor in Toledo. They featured many Polka bands known nationwide. Anna and Ollie won numerous awards for their polka dancing. Anna was a member of the VFW Post 4906, and it's Rosary Society. She was also a member of the East Side Senior Center. Anna lived a full and vibrant life being an avid bingo player and decorating her entire outside of her house at Christmas which was featured in the Toledo Blade. She was a fantastic seamstress, making costumes for her 2 daughters for entertaining, and then outfits for her grandchildren. Anna was preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Virag and then husband, Ollie. Also preceding her were her parents; sister, Mary Varady and Helen Vass; brother, Emery Sirilo; son-in-law, Michael Langel Jr. Ann leaves behind her daughters, Doris Langel and Janice (Dave) Altenbach; step-daughter, Jackie Wilczynski; grandchildren, Roxanne (Bob) Grebe, Chalane (Dr. Charles) Sheldon, Monika DeGregorio, Jason (Karen) Stombaugh, Tom (Dawn) Stombaugh; great grandchildren, Ronald and Nikhol DeGregorio, Breyden Sheldon, Logan and Ethan Stombaugh; sisters, Lola Anello, Betty Brzuchaski; brother, Ernest Sirilo; sister-in-law, Helen Sirilo. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday and Sunday from 2-8 p.m. with a rosary service on Saturday at 7p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2018 Consaul Street for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to thank Orchard Villa and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their wonderful care. Visitation: Saturday & Sunday, 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services: Monday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church Interment: St. Ignatius Cemetery
