Anna Jane Durst, 87, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, July 27, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Anna was born November 25, 1927 to William Hull and Beatrice Ella (Fryer) Egbert in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Her family moved to Ohio during the depression. She was a 1945 graduate of Waite High School where she was a swimmer and president of the Girls W. Club. Anna worked as a waitress for over 40 years beginning at Grace Smith's Cafeteria as a teenager and later at the Howard Johnson and Holiday Inn. On April 9, 1949, she married Joseph C. Durst at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Anna was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and a longtime member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Altar Rosary Society. She was a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed playing bunco with her high school girl friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. Anna is survived by her children, Johanna Podolsky, Juanita (Charles) Koehn, Joseph (Mary) Durst, and Beth (Dwane) Woodbury; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Goodeman; and brother, Jacob (Nancy) Egbert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Kurt; and siblings, Beatrice Miller, William Egbert, and Freda Lowe. Friends may call at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 541 Utah Street, Toledo on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 10:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
