Anna M. LaPorte, 72, passed away at her home on Monday, August 10, 2026. She was born on September 25, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, to Nicholas and Anna Maynhart.
Anna graduated from Waite High School in 1972 and married the love of her life, Bruce LaPorte, on September 20, 1986. She worked for 26 years at Crown Cork & Seal before the company's closing. She later continued her education at Owens Community College, where she earned an associate degree in Hospitality Management, graduating with honors. Anna went on to work at The French Quarter in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Anna loved her husband and family dearly, and they were the center of her life. She especially enjoyed spending time with those she loved, browsing garage sales and flea markets, cheering on her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, and enjoying her love of flamingos. Anna was also a wonderful cook and baker who took great pride in preparing many beloved Hungarian dishes, including chicken paprikash, bean soup, and traditional pastries and making palacsintas. Her love for family extended beyond her own home, as she became like a second mother to her nieces and nephews while helping care for them when her sister went to work. Her family will always cherish the love, laughter, and memories she gave them.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Bruce; her siblings, Eleanor McMahon, Frank Maynhart, John Maynhart, and Helen Doley; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Anna Maynhart; and her siblings, Nick Maynhart and Mary Ann Maynhart.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 9:15 a.m., followed by procession to Epiphany of the Lord St. Stephen's Parish for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Anna's memory to Epiphany of the Lord St. Stephen's Parish.
