Anne Mary Schellhase, 70, of Pemberville, OH passed away on December 3, 2008, at Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village. She was born April 23, 1922, to James and Mary Edmunds. She attended Central High School in Columbus, Ohio and the Columbus Academy of Fine Art. She met and married Pastor Norman C. Schellhase while he was attending the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary. Throughout their lives together, Anne was a loving support to the ministry of Norm as well as the parishes he served in Marion and Sandusky, Ohio, Detroit and Dearborn Michigan and Pemberville, Ohio. She was a frequent inspirational speaker at Women's groups and mother-daughter banquets giving life lessons based on her hat collection. She was a fashion coordinator and sales promotion manager at Jacobson's Department Store, Dearborn. She also taught fashion merchandizing and interior design at Patricia Stevens Career College, Toledo. Anne and Norm's Lakeside cottage was a meeting place for family and numerous social gatherings. She has been known as the "hostess with the mostest." Their children are David Schellhase (sons, Joel, Ben, Zach) and Susan Dean (Christopher and Allyson). Family and friends may visit at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, December 5, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 220 Cedar St., Pemberville, OH from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Interment will take place in Pemberville Union Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Anne's name are asked to consider Lutheran Housing Services, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Otterbein-Portage Valley.
