Obituary

Annette (Sleighton) Ruetz, of Toledo, Ohio, went home with our Lord on January 30, 2005. Mrs. Ruetz was born in North Baltimore, Ohio on July 22, 1936, to Robert and Louella (Schooner) Sleighton. She moved to Toledo, Ohio when she was in grade school. Annette was married to William H. Ruetz, Sr. on April 17, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio at an early age of 17. Annette worked for Jobst Institute for 23 and a half years until Jobst moved. She took two years off and then went to work for Woodville Surplus until an illness forced her to retire. She enjoyed going to Hopewell Wesleyan Christian Church and was an active member until her illness forced her from going. She expressed her love and dedication for her dog, Mugsy, who gave her much happiness and joy. She also had an excellent green thumb. Her family would give her plants to save for them when they thought there was no hope. She could always bring them back to life. Annette loved being around people. She was a very caring and giving person, a devoted mother and wife who would always help anyone who needed it. She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted husband of fifty plus years, William H. Ruetz Sr., children Kim (Ruetz) Purtee and fiance, Ray Bischoff of Toledo, Mark (Peggy) of Swanton, Keith of New Castle; daughter-in-law, Louise of Toledo; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; her brother, Donald Wright of Ottawa, Ohio and Aunt Oca Tefft of Bono. She was preceded in death by her son, William H. Ruetz, Jr. of Toledo, parents, Robert and Louella Sleighton; sisters, Teresa Schapett, Darla Miner and Fern Hendrix. Coy Road, Oregon, OH, on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. and where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
