Arnold A. "Butch" Schimming, 67, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 23, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. Butch was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 14, 1949 to Arnold and Margaret (Vick) Schimming. He was a graduate of Macomber High School and attended Toledo University. Butch worked for Scholz Homes and 18 years with Toledo Building Services. A dedicated sports fan, Butch enjoyed following the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes. His Hobbies included: hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking for family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Butch is survived by his mother, Margaret; sister, Sue and special brother-in-law Tom Overmier; brother, Larry Schimming; nieces & nephews, Tanya ( Louis) Melvin, Thomas( Jenn) Overmier, Kyle (Kala) Schimming, Eric Schimming, and Jake Schimming; great nieces, Zoey Melvin and Berkley Schimming great nephew, Louie Melvin; and longtime friend, Mike Pratt. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Delbert Schimming; and sister, Sandra Tong.
Visitation will be at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 11:00 am until time of memorial service at 1:00 pm. Memorials may be directed to Ducks Unlimited –Henry County Chapter. www.egglestonmeinert.com
