Obituary

ARTHUR R. "Bob" ANDRIS Arthur R. "Bob" Andris 77, formerly of Bakewell Street passed away Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Sunbridge Care Center West where he had been a patient for the past five years. He was born on July 31, 1926 in Toledo, Ohio to Amy and Zelda Andris. He was a WWII Navy Veteran serving on the USS Bon Homme Richard. Arthur retired from the Columbia Gas Company after 30 years of service. In his spare time Arthur was an avid bowler, bowling a 300. He also was a very good golfer and would be seen a Collins Golf Course many times during a week. Arthur was a gentle giant being loved by all, for his easy going ways . He was a member of Calvin United Church of Christ and also a member of the Helping Hands C.B. Club. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Andris; bother and sister-in-laws, Steve and Sue Contos; nieces and nephews, Marie Wharton, John (Marty) Fejes, Pam (Jim) Schenk, Gail Contos, Mark Contos. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen Contos Andris. Visitation will be held at Kinsey Funeral Home, Birmingham Chapel, 2001 Consaul Street on Monday, September 15, 2003 form 3-7p.m. with funeral services beginning at 7:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Calvin United Church of Christ. Arthur's family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Sunbridge Care Center for the love and care they provided to him during his stay.
