Arvina Pearl Hager, 83, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 16, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Pearl was born July 18, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, along with her twin brother, Arvin Earl to Arnold and June (Sweetman) Wuertz. On November 21, 1959, she married the love of her life, Michael J. Hager and enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. For 21 years, Pearl worked for First St. John Lutheran Church Pre-School, affectionately known as "Miss Pearl", retiring in 2001. She lovingly cared for all of the children as if they were her own. Pearl enjoyed going to bingo on Friday nights with her sister Lucille. Her hobbies included; knitting slippers, baking cookies, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her extended family at the annual Christmas party. Over the past five years, she gained another extended family with her friends at Luther Hills.
Pearl is survived by her children, Mike (Julie) Hager, and June (Daniel) Howland; grandchildren, Mike, Kelli, Emily, and Rachel; siblings, Mark (Karen) Wuertz and Sharon Slinker; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband; siblings, Bill, Earl, Chuck Wuertz, Lucille Mitchell, and Linda Stander; and step-mother, Noreen Wuertz.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Friday, March 22, 2024 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Louis Helping Hands.
