Aubrey H. Van Horn, 100 of Curtice, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Aubrey was born in Deshler, Ohio on March 5, 1915 to Glen and Laura (Harris) Van Horn. While serving in the United States Army and stationed at Ft. Benning, Georgia, he married the love of his life Elizabeth Vargo. He was a former member and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #4237. Aubrey was a dedicated member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters #1138 and retired in 1982 after 37 years of devoted service. His hobbies included woodworking, maintaining the home he built for his family, and was an avid reader.
Aubrey is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth; children, Glenn (Darla) Van Horn and Patricia (Rick) King; grandchildren, Doug Van Horn, David (Darcy) Van Horn, Eric King and Lindsay (Mike) Bolser; great-grandchildren, Katie, Jack, Joe, and Thomas Van Horn; step-grandchildren, Ken (Chris) Cousino, Jeanette (John) Hrovatich, Rebecca Remer and Howard Cousino; along with 8 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Hazel Wagner; brother, Homer Van Horn; and great-granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Van Horn.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm -8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Williston Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
