Heaven gained another angel when Audrey joined the heavenly chorus on December 29, 2017. Audrey was born on Feb 18, 1927, in Southgate, California and spent a life of devotion helping other people. She worked at the City of Oregon for 25 years as a clerk in the water department. She was a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years, taught the adult Sunday school class for 39 years, loved the Lord with all her heart, and made food for many of the events. Audrey was an excellent seamstress and sewed for many people making wedding gowns, nightgowns for all the family, costumes for shows, and designed many garments. She excelled in all she did from parenting six children to baking and entertaining. She and her husband, Ed, were founding members of the Velvetone Choraliers. She treasured family and friends inviting many over for delicious Sunday dinners and cooking for the yearly waffle breakfast in their home on New Year's Day. With a family of eight, there was always room at the table for more eaters. Audrey taught her family the values of living a Christian life and the value of education. Although she never attended college, she and Ed made certain that each of their children graduated with a college degree.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Evelyn Hancock, her brother, Gene Fangman, and her husband of 70 years, Edward.
She is survived by her six children: Cheryl Garlow (Bill), Wes (Cathy), Elaine Webb (Richard), Glenn (Marsha), Ed (Marcia), and Jon (Jayne). Audrey was also a loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Her most crowning achievement, as she would tell you, is her family who will miss her very much.
