Austin B. Takacs, 11, of Oregon, OH, passed away tragically on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 21, 1997, to Louis and Nancy (Koester) Takacs. Austin was a sixth grade Honor Roll student in the Gifted and Talented program at Eisenhower Middle School. He was active in the School Band, Art Class and the Chess Club. Austin enjoyed music, video games, especially Star Wars and making You Tube Videos. He touched many lives and will be sadly missed by his family and friends, especially his best friends since kinder-garten, Drew Schloegl, Nate Beckman and Macy McGrady. He also played football, baseball and soccer in the Oregon Recreation Department. Surviving are his parents, Louis R. III and Nancy I. Takacs; sister, Ashlyn B.; grandparents, Louis II and Cheryl Takacs of Oregon, OH; grandmother, Marilyn Koester of Oregon, OH; grand-father, Melvin Koester of Florida; great-grandparents, Louis and Margaret Takacs of Toledo, OH and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncles, Butch and Melvin Koester. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Saturday, October 18, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. and Sunday, October, 19, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in First St. John Lutheran Church with interment following in St. John Cemetery.
