Barbara A. George, 88, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on March 1, 2018 at Genacross Lutheran Services Toledo Campus. She was born in Toledo, Ohio July 13, 1929 to James and Helen (Smith) Bake. Barbara graduated from Clay High School and soon after married the love of her life, Kenneth C. George on November 27, 1948. Together they were very active in the Oregon community before his passing in 2003. Barbara was a member at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, was a 4-H advisor, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout Den mother for many years, and was also active in the P.T.A. She was also a member at the Harbor View Yacht Club, member of the Satin Gavel, and ladies Auxillary at Oregon Firestation 1. What Barbara cherished most was her family and will truly be missed. Barbara is survived by her children, Mitch (Joyce) George, Cynthia (Jackson L.) Reynolds, Beverly (Joe) Miller; grandchildren, Mitchel, Jason, Lindsay, Matthew, Eric, Kirk, Marc; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Kenneth; son, Jim and sister, Beverly Fix. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Allen Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or Alzheimer's Association.
