Barbara Bruce, 83, of Oregon, OH passed away on September 20, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on September 3, 1933 to Fred and Mabel (Lovell) Bruce. Barbara was a graduate of the University of Toledo. She retired from Mercy St. Vincent Hospital in 1989 after 21 years as the Director of Medical Records. Barbara volunteered her time at the Helping Hands of St. Louis, the Toledo Museum of Art, and Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was active in the Oregon Business and Professional Women, Third Tuesday Gallery Group and the St. Vincent Retirees. Barbara also was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Surviving are her sister, Sandra Yorka; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dennis Bruce. Friends may visit at Epiphany of the Lord – St. Thomas Aquinas Church , 729 White St., Toledo, on Friday, September 23, 2016 beginning at Noon until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
