Barbara J. Hoffmann, 84 years, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, of Toledo, Oh passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Newago, Michigan on May 14, 1921 to Clifford and Lella (Bowman) Frede. After graduating from Burnham High School, she worked at Fanny Farmer, Merrill Pharmaceuticals and Wright Aeronautical. Barbara was a devoted mother and wife and enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening. She enjoyed meeting with the "Rinky Dink" Women's Club every month for the past 50 years and had just celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary on January 1, 2006.
Surviving are her loving husband, Waldemar H. "Coke" Hoffmann; sons, Waldemar F. "Rick" (Connie), Clifford W. and Glen R. (Karen) Hoffmann; daughter, Marla A. (Dave) Stella; sisters, Idamae Consolatti, Glenna Floan and Patricia (Joe) Johnson; brother, Raymond (Lois) Frede; sister-in-law, Alma Seeger; grandchildren, Rob Kern, Meghan Hoffmann, Jenn (Tim) Root, Michelle (Gary) Holt, Jason Bader, Kim (Don) Pickron, Jason (Anna) Stella, Mike and Rocco Stella and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marjorie Rower. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Sunday, February 12, 2006 from 2 until 8 pm where funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Barbara's name may be given to the St. Charles Mercy Oncology Department or charity of the donor's choice.
