Barbara Ann Lester, of Perrysburg, OH passed away on October 14, 2007 at Harborside Healthcare, Perrysburg, OH. She was born on November 3, 1929 to the late James and Margaret (Sommers) Lester. She attended and later spent 39 years teaching at Navarre Elementary School in Toledo. She also attended Waite High School and Mary Manse College. Barbara was an avid reader and traveler- visiting many of the places she read about. She was also a great animal lover with her favorite being cats. She was a member and past officer in Alpha Delta Kappa, Alpha Gamma Chapter, Kappa Delta Pi honorary education groups. She also belonged to the American Federation of Teachers, Lucas County Retired Teachers and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her sister, Janice A. Becker of Perrysburg, OH and many, many nieces and nephews. Family and Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2 to 9 pm where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 pm. Interment will be in Willow Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter, Inc. 38 Hillwyck Dr. Toledo, OH, the Arthritis Foundation Northwestern Ohio Chapter, 309 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH or the charity of the donor's choice. The family thanks all the people at Harborside Healthcare in Perrysburg for the tender loving care they gave Barbara, especially Kyle.
