Barbara Meyers, 82 years old, of Oregon OH, died on Thursday, December 4, 2025 after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Toledo OH, Barb was the oldest of six children born to George and Alice Beeley, and was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Barb used the experiences of a difficult childhood to become a person who makes this world a better place.

In November 1963, she married the love of her life, Frank Meyers, Jr. They were married for 59 years when Frank died in 2022. They helped each realize some of their greatest hopes and dreams and, together, they raised two strong and independent daughters, who survive her: Kathleen of Oregon OH and Jackie (Eric) of Las Vegas NV.

Endlessly proud of her girls, she delighted in watching them take their places in the world, making it a better place. Her greatest joy was in knowing, wherever life took them, they always found their way home. To the very end, home was whenever they were together, surrounded by music and stories, laughter and love.

For almost twenty years, Barb worked as a commissary manager for White Tower restaurants, where she was known for her pies and specialty soups. Retiring in 1998, she was an award winning cook, remembered also for beautiful homemade cakes. She was known to share soup with people who were healing, to send cards to those who were struggling, and to show up on the doorstep of those who needed a hug.

She loved kids and taught children's Sunday School for more than 20 years, offering her talents with children's sermons dressed up in character as "Professor Wonder." Wherever she went, she wanted to leave people with a joke and smile, wanting always to keep them laughing - and to keep them guessing.

In addition to her daughters, Barb is survived by her grandson, Jude Kevern of Las Vegas NV; her sisters, Miriam Beeley of Aztec NM; Lorraine Sickler of Toledo OH; Bonnie Beeley of Rochester NY; her brother, Thad (Cindy) Beeley of Holland OH; special sisters-in-law Jan Beeley of Perrysburg OH and Candace Webster of Bradford VT; and numerous friends, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents, George and Alice Beeley; and brother, Mark Beeley.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Monday, December 8 from 2-8 p.m. To honor this life well lived, funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday December 9 at Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Extension, Oregon, Ohio, where the family and friends can gather beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Barb wished for donations made to Christ United Methodist Church in support of their community outreach ministry, 419 Cares - to continue the work of making this world a better place.
