Barbara Jean Pompos, 66, of Perrysburg and formerly of Oregon, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Barbara was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 18, 1943 to John S. and Eleanor (Kovach) Nagy. She was a graduate of Waite High School. Mrs. Pompos had worked for 12 years as a Docket Clerk at the US District Courthouse in Toledo. Barbara was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society
Surviving are her husband, Robert F.; children, Michelle M. (Richard) Losey, 1st Sergeant Anthony J. (Michelle) Pompos; grandchildren, Ian, Megan, Gillian, Tysen; sister, Judith (William) Besgrove and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Barbara's memory are asked to consider the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
