Obituary

Barbara J. Rucki, 64, of Oregon, Ohio passed away October 13, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 7, 1949 to Frank and Lucille (Patterson) Ferguson. Barb had been employed as a nurse at the Lutheran Home & Rehab Center, retiring in November 2011. She also worked at Parkview Hospital and was a dedicated, caring nurse that always put her patients first. Barbara married the love of her life, Joseph 'œMike' Rucki on November 7, 1988. Mike and Barbara were the best of friends who enjoyed traveling. They were especially proud that they were able to visit all the continental states as well as Mexico and Canada. Twice a year they visited the 4 Queens in Las Vegas and considered it their second home. Along with Mike, Barbara'™s pride and joy was her family, especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Amy (Kevin) Rodgers, Myla Counterman, Kelly Counterman, Michael Steveson; grandchildren, Stephanie, DJ, Matthew, Kevin, Asia, Kyle, Nicholas, Sondra, Olivia, Gregory, Katie, Julie, Nicolai, Seanna; great grandchildren, Anthony, Aimee, Ameer, Jaidin, Aliza, Daeveon, Tyreese, Semaj; sisters, Brenda (David) Burns, Bernadette (John) Johannsen; brother, Donald (Lori) Ferguson; foster sister, Margaret (John) Meis; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Dave) Zeller and Judy Rucki; special friends, Penny Norden, Ann Shank and Pat Purdy. Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph 'œMike' Rucki; parents; brothers, David and Frank Ferguson; sisters, Beverly Turner and Betty Fountain; foster brother, Larry Cutshall and foster sister, Sue Cutshall. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in N. Oregon Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Barb'™s memory can be directed to St. Jude'™s Children'™s Hospital or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr.'™s Mahajan and Bomanna along with the entire staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Labuhn Center.
