Barbara A. Saylor, 85, of Rossford, passed away after a brief stay in Hospice, after months of illness. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Wilbur "Bob" and Mary (Bratschi) Kraemer on June 5, 1931. Barbara married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Carl Saylor on May 2, 1953, and together they raised their four daughters. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. After graduation from Waite High School, she worked at Abbott Laboratories until the birth of her first child. She then volunteered for many school and church projects. Barb was an active member of Memorial United Church of Christ throughout her life, as well as her husband and daughters. She loved to travel, especially camping, road trips, and cruising. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Together Carl and Barb created a family vacation home in the beautiful pine forests of West Michigan. It is there at "The Woods" the entire family enjoyed many of their most blessed and memorable times with family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Carl; sister, Mary Ann Heymann; daughters, Cheryl (Jack) Hawley, Mary Beth Payak-Dock, Lisa (David) Leonhardt, Amy (Timothy) Scherer; grandchildren, Samuel (Tonia) Schade, Nicholas (Kelly) Schade, Molly Schade, Michael Leonhardt, Andrew Leonhardt, Robert Payak; great grandchildren, Willow Bays, Loon Schade, Elouise Nuo, Luka Nuo, and Tucker Schade.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Sunday, January 30, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial United Church of Christ, Starr and Plymouth Sts., Toledo where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Barbara's name are asked to consider Memorial United Church of Christ or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
