Barbara M. Surprise, 85, of Toledo, Ohio passed away April 29, 2008 at Heartland of Oregon. She was born in Rockland, Maine on March 26, 1923 to Stephen and Hazel (Kidder) Cables. Barbara had been employed at MCO as a telephone operator fro 23 years, retiring in 1989.   Surviving are her children, Dianne (David) Poduszka, Michael and Stephen (Karen) Surprise; grandchildren, Gina (Michael) McGaharan, Nick Saggio, Michelle, Sadi and Zachari Surprise, Christopher Wilson; 5 great grandchildren; sister and brother, Eleanor Buckley and Richard Carver, both of Maine. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leo Surprise Jr. and son, Leo Edward Surprise III. There will be no visitation or services. Expressions of sympathy in Barbaras memory can be made to the Hearing and Speech Foundation in Leo Edward Surprise III name. Arrangements are being handled by the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Homes.
