Barbara Ann Welch, a woman of deep faith, boundless compassion, and dedication to her family, passed away on April 18, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love and kindness. Born on January 4, 1937, in Findlay, Ohio, to Joseph and Glenna Zebedis, Barbara lived a life defined by her care for others and a joyful spirit. 

In 1958, Barbara married her beloved husband, Joseph Welch. A natural caregiver with a kind heart, Barbara dedicated 23 years of her professional life to working at a local nursing home, where she provided comfort, dignity, and support to the residents in her care. 

Barbara's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted and highly active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for 60 years. Her commitment to her church family was evident in her many roles: she nurtured the spiritual growth of youth by teaching Sunday School for 23 years and leading Vacation Bible School for many years, guided her peers as the president of the Ladies Guild, and joyfully shared her love for the Lord as a regular member of the church choir. 

Beyond her work and church, Barb embraced the simple, beautiful moments of life. She greatly enjoyed taking trips and had a special fondness for exploring Amish country, where she delighted in attending various Amish craft shows. 

She is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children: Debbie Lowry, (Martin), Marsha, Michelle, Terry, and Melanie Soncrant, (Troy); Son-in-Law, Larry Schlievert and her beloved grandchildren: Ashley, Matthew, Melissa, Tyler; and Erica and siblings Frank Zebedis and Marian Culver; and friend Lucas. 

Barbara is now reunited in peace with her parents, Joseph and Glenna; her devoted husband, Joseph; and her dear daughter, Stephanie (Schlievert), who preceded her in death. 

The family will greet friends at, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1459 South St, Millbury, OH 43447, on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Barbara's name may be directed to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
