Ben L. Ptake Jr., 82, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 13, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born August 16, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio to Benedict L and Mae L. (Vanderluit) Ptake Sr. Ben was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1962-1966. On April 22, 1966, he married Yvonne Gibson. Ben made many lifelong friends as a delivery driver for Nickles Bakery, retiring in 1997 with 32 years of dedicated service. Ben shared his lifelong love of fishing with his children and grandchildren; and was present to see his grandchildren reel in their first catches. Ben coached his children's sports teams and was a dedicated fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ben and Yvonne treasured their retirement years spent at their cottage on Randall Lake in Coldwater, Michigan. Ben will be remembered for his smile from ear to ear; his contagious laugh, and being the biggest jokester; even during his final days. He was a constant support to his family, friends, and was willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Ben is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne; children, Tina Timmons, Yvette Maseck, Julie (Matt) Robinson, and Robin (Ryan) Bowen; grandchildren, Jay Tate, Derek (Kennadie) Logan, Connor (Athena) Bowen, Jase Bowen, and Alex Maseck; and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Sandra Ptake and Rosalie Stiles.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services Friday, March 17, 2023, at 10:00 am in the funeral Home. Interment: Restlawn Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Paralyzed Veterans of American or the Toledo Humane Society.
