Benjamin E. Greene, 82, of Curtice, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Bay Park Community Hospital.
He was born in Salt Lick, KY, on March 2nd, 1928. During WWII, Ben served his country in the US Air Force. On November 5th 1951, he married Rosella Miller. Ben worked at Standard Oil for 14 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and tending the many gardens around his home. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Kentucky Wildcats.
He is survived by his son, Gary; step children, Robert (Barbara) Worden and Sandra Kittle; grandchildren, Kim (Rich) Hooper, Robert (Angela) Kittle, Kay (Paul) Lucas, Elizabeth Bator, Duane (Roxanne) Worden, and Lisa (Rick) Miller; 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn and Sandra; special neighbors, Walt and Jeanette Humberger, Margie and Dick Kania; longtime friends, Neal and Joy Rosenberger and Dennis Varwig. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 56 years, Rosella.
Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Road on Wednesday, May 19th from 4:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday in the funeral home. Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, May 22nd at Rose Hill Burial Park in Massillon, Ohio. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
