Benjamin Mincheff, 71, of Martin, Ohio passed away on Thursday March 27, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 22, 1942 to Chris and Rina (Stoylova) Mincheff. He was an avid car enthusiast in his younger days. After he married, he worked at many jobs, including a cook at the Boy'™s Club Camp to gas stations and eventually retiring from CSX Transportation. Ben enjoyed watching and supporting his children and grandchildren'™s various events. He was the Oak Harbor Athletic Booster President when his children were in school and a booster for all sports teams. He was also the Wrestling Tournament Director for many years at the Oak Harbor Invitational Tournament.
In his retirement, he loved spending time with his family and his Railroad buddies, fishing on Lake Erie, attending soccer and wrestling matches, and vacations to North Carolina to visit Karen, Phil, and Steven.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Susan (Fragoso) Mincheff; children Ben (Cherri) Mincheff, Carlos (Jill) Mincheff, Karen (Phil) Eames and Diana (Bryan) Chambers; grandchildren, Jason (Rachael), Justin (Angela), Amanda (Matt), Tatum, Melissa, Kyle, Katie, Steven (Jennifer), Jim, Josh, and Jared; great grandchildren, Ayden and Avery; and sisters, Sonia Eischen and Cathy Sarka. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Christopher.
Family and friends may visit at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, on Sunday March 30th from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held Monday March 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. John United of Christ on Washington Street in Genoa, OH. The funeral service will follow after visitation, starting at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park on State Route 163. A luncheon will be held at the church after the interment.
