Bernadine H. Lofquist, 80, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2005 in Bay Park Community Hospital. Bernadine was born in Toledo on March 9, 1925 to Henry and Louise (Helmke) Joehlin. Mrs. Lofquist had been employed as a nurse aid at the Little Sisters of the Poor before her retirement in 1984. She was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the former Mary Martha Circle.
Bernadine is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, August; daughter, Linda (John) Maiani; sons, Loren and Keith (Adele) Lofquist; brothers, Robert (Jane) and Dale (Barbara) Joehlin; grandchildren, Mary (Mark) Talle, Ted (Andrea) Mitchell, Christopher, Cole and Cory Lofquist.; great grandchildren, William Mitchell and Charles Mitchell. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Eleanor Cygnor.
Friends and relatives will be received in Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in First St. John Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Memorials contributions in Bernadine's memory may be made to either St. John Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Bay Park for the loving care of Bernadine during her stay.
