Bernice T. Navarre, 78, of Oregon, OH passed away peacefully in her home on January 7, 2007. She was born in Toledo on October 22, 1928 to Stanley and Salom (Orzechowski) Kwiatkowski. She retired from the Kroger Company. She was a member of the Cooley Canal Yacht Club where she served as Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary and often cooked for the dinners. She was an excellent cook and always made sure the family was well fed. Bernice was also the Secretary Treasurer for the Lucas County Ohio Farmers Union as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Christ Dunberger American Legion Post 537.
Bernice is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Melvin; sons, Melvin Jr. and Jeffrey; daughters, Terrie Ellen (Michael) Winslow and Mary Katherine (David) Schaub; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Stanley Jr. and sister, Florence Lipinski.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 2 until 8 pm with a 6:30 pm CCYC Ladies Auxiliary Service and a 7 pm Scripture Service. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at St. Ignatius Cemetery with visitation from 10 until 11 am at the funeral home. The family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
