Bertram Banks, Jr., 86, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on May 16, 2016 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on April 5, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Bertram Sr., and Esther Banks. Bertram is a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. Following his service, he worked for a short time for the Highway Patrol, and various occupations, including as a security guard at Toledo Hospital for several years. Bertram enjoyed golfing, volunteering at the Lutheran Home, and was a member of the G.A.F.
Bertram is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and two brothers.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Bertram's memory are asked to consider a charity of the donor's choice.
