Bessie B. 'œGramma' Pavlica, 95, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 surrounded by her family. Bessie was born in Ashley, Michigan on June 6, 1918 to Frank and Filomena (Suchomel) Tihlarik. On November 13, 1937, she married Frank Pavlica. Bessie was a lifelong homemaker where she enjoyed painting her three story house every few years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Rosary Society. Bessie enjoyed hosting family dinners and will be remembered for her chicken soup and apple pie. Bessie enjoyed traveling to California, Colorado, Florida, and Nevada after Frank passed away in 1985. Her hobbies included a love of music, singing, polka dancing, making latch hook rugs, and visiting her favorite casinos.
Bessie is survived by her children; John (Mariester), Joseph (Trudie), Margaret (Robert) Tolles, Carol Sarns, Patricia (Bernie) Sailer, and Kathleen (Howard) Gurtzweiler; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bessie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Frank Jr., 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 17, 2013 at 10:30 am in Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 541 Utah Street, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Chapel of Chimes. Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Catholic Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. www.egglestonmeinert.com
