Betty B. Bode, 90, of Oregon, Ohio passed away October 12, 2003 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. She was born in Hungary on June 6, 1913 to Stephen and Esther Vas. Through the years, Betty was employed at several area restaurants including Smith's Cafeteria in downtown Toledo and Abde's Steakhouse. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Ann Toth, Toledo, OH; sisters, Ann Mascsak, Oregon, OH and Mary (Joseph) Sinay, Oregon, OH; grandchildren, Joe and John Fuzessy, Christine Harris, Larry and Gary Benedict, Kathleen (Michael) Schmidt, Michael Toth, Dennis (Barbara) Toth, Terri (Larry) Koren; 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, John Fuzessy and Joseph Bode; parents; brother, Steve Vas; children, John Fuzessy and Betty Jane Benedict Visitation will be held at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Contributions in Betty's memory can be made to St. Stephen School.
